About the Role
As a Utility officer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for Co-ordination and supervision for operation and maintenance of utility section. You would also be responsible for maintaining utility & process equipment, machinery, to ensure that it functions reliably, safely and comply with applicable standards and statutory requirements. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:
1. Utility Operations, Monitoring & Emergency Response
•
Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and operating problems to minimize utility disruptions.
•
Ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities to production units without breakdown.
•
Review daily water analysis through the auto chemical dosing system (3D Tresser), daily logbook entries, and maintenance checklist reports of utility equipment.
•
Maintain tools, repair equipment, and ensure the utility area is managed under 5S, participating in periodic 5S audits and Kaizen activities.
2. Maintenance Planning, Execution & Documentation
•
Implement and execute maintenance programs while maintaining detailed maintenance records for machinery and equipment.
•
Set, adjust, and operate utility equipment, machinery, and instruments for maximum efficiency.
•
Monitor maintenance equipment, materials, spare parts, and tools used by maintenance teams.
•
Supervise and execute outsourced activities through AMC and CMC contracts.
•
Prepare and coordinate annual inspections of utility systems and carry out assessments.
•
Execute PM schedules in SAP-PM/MM and conduct RCA of breakdowns through corrective and preventive actions.
3. Energy Management, Efficiency & Safety Compliance
•
Drive energy-saving initiatives at the Lubrizol site.
•
Ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) considerations related to operations, environment, and product at all stages.
•
Coordinate safety systems including work permits (cold/hot/tank entry/height work).
•
Assist the Utility In-Charge in adhering to all statutory compliances.
•
Follow all statutory and regulatory requirements.
4. Team Supervision, Training & Resource Management
•
Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure effective use of team resources and achievement of schedules and targets.
•
Train workers to ensure multi-skilling, flexibility, and safe work practices.
5. Technical Scope & Equipment Expertise
•
Work with utilities such as boilers, steam systems, utilities piping, nitrogen PSA plants, thermic fluid heaters, chillers, gas storage, fire hydrant systems, cooling towers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
•
Review and interpret P&ID, PFD, and mechanical drawings.
•
Utilize SAP ERP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools for data management and documentation.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
•
Graduate in Mechanical Engineering
•
Energy Manager/Auditor certification; preferably EnMS 50001 auditor certification
•
Minimum: 5–7 years of utility operations in a chemical plant
•
Exposure to utilities like boiler and steam system, utilities piping, nitrogen PSA plant, thermic fluid heater, chiller, gas storage, fire hydrant system, cooling towers, air compressors, and HVAC.
•
Experienced in P&ID, PFD, and mechanical drawings.
•
Familiar with legal certifications DISH, PESO, IBR.
