Grifols Diagnostic Solutions in San Diego, CA is seeking a **Shipping and Receiving Associate III**. The Shipping and Receiving Associate III will report to the Supervisor, Distribution and will coordinate complex Blood Typing Solutions shipments including the management of shipments from GDS San Diego to multiple destinations. This role is also responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a warehouse environment involving the handling and storing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking individuals with at least 2-4 years of shipping and receiving experience, preferrably have prior experience working with carriers for international shipments (Latin America, Brasil, etc). SAP knowledge and experience is a preferred.
The shift for the Shipping and Receiving Associate III will primarily be 1st shift (start time varies between 5-6:30am). We are looking for candidates with flexible shift schedules.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions; computer knowledge and use of email and system applications; organizational skills; attention to detail; strong mathematic skills; knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); able to adapt to changing environments; able to communicate effectively among peers; good customer service interaction; able to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of dangerous goods and/or hazardous material handling; knowledge of regulatory requirements for shipping activities; ability to prioritize daily workloads; independent-thinking and solution oriented.
Typically requires a high school diploma or AA with related experience
2-4 years in related experience (i.e. fast-paced, high demand, high throughput environment) with high school diploma or 2-3 years in related experience with AA. Must have at least 2 years of GMP experience in a regulated environment.
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level typically requires an Associate’s degree plus 2 years of experience, an equivalent could include 4 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree.
May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 55 pounds in weight, and/or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 25 pounds in weight frequently or continuously. Additional requirements may include providing assistance to another employee in lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise manipulating objects 100 pounds or greater in weight. May move objects and/or materials using carts, lift trucks or pallet jacks. May work in 2-8C or -20C walk-in units for extended periods of time. Surrounded by a variety of constantly moving, motorized warehouse equipment. May handle dry ice to maintain proper storage temperature for frozen materials.
