Location/Division Specific Information:
This position is in High Point, North Carolina, United States of America, within the Pharma Services Group (PSG). Schedule will be 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday, some overtime required. If hired, must participate in the weekend rotation (normally one weekend per month, 1/2 day on Sat and Sun to support manufacturing).

As a Senior Material Handler, you will make an impact by ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely movement of materials and finished goods that support production and on-time customer deliveries. Through careful staging, packaging, inventory control, and export documentation will help reduce errors, prevent delays, and maintain high quality and safety standards. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and serving as a reliable distribution representative, your work will contribute to operational efficiency and help Thermo Fisher Scientific deliver solutions that advance science and improve lives.
DESCRIPTION
A Day in the Life:
As a Senior Material Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate, efficient movement and shipment of materials and finished goods.
- Pick, pull, and stage finished goods for shipment of completed systems
- Provide receiving and shipping support as business needs require
- Perform daily cycle counts of material locations and report results or discrepancies to inventory control
- Support outbound shipping of small parcel shipments (FedEx/UPS)
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift
- Participate in and support continuous process improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned. (This list is not intended to be exhaustive.)
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field
- Required: Stand up reach lift experience
- Required: Valid driver's license
- Required: Able to drive a box truck to transport raw materials and supplies between warehouses (CDL not required)
- Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers, forklifts)
- Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment
- Preferred: Experience with SAP
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, including safety manuals, SOPs, and work instructions
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in a changing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet or database tools is a plus
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs or more
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
