Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Global Strategic Marketing plays a key role in driving and implementing global marketing strategies for assigned product segments within Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision. This individual will leverage customer insights, market data, and cross-functional collaboration to enable growth, strengthen market positioning, and deliver on business objectives.
This role requires a strategic thinker and execution-focused leader who can guide initiatives, influence stakeholders, and ensure delivery of high-quality marketing plans within a complex, global environment.
You will be responsible for:
Strategy Execution & Market Insight:
Drive and support execution of global marketing strategies informed by customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
Integrate voice of customer (VOC) and market data to inform upstream initiatives and portfolio optimization.
Conduct research on industry trends to shape effective marketing approaches.
Go-to-Market Planning & Delivery:
Develop and implement global go-to-market plans aligned to business priorities and regional needs.
Lead execution of segment-specific marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment to timelines, quality, and outcomes.
Monitor performance of marketing initiatives and refine plans based on insights.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Enablement:
Serve as a strategic resource and partner to cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regional teams.
Coordinate resources and align stakeholders to support execution.
Partner with external agencies and key opinion leaders.
Commercial Activation & Operational Excellence:
Implement promotional strategies, including campaign planning and evaluation.
Support tradeshows, sales meetings, and customer engagement activities.
Develop sales tools, training, and educational materials in partnership with Communications and Education teams.
Business & Performance Management:
Lead analysis of marketing metrics and performance data.
Manage budgets and vendor relationships to ensure effective resource utilization.
Optimize marketing activities based on data-driven insights.
Team Guidance & Capability Building:
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members and cross-functional partners.
Contribute to building marketing capabilities and best practices.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years progressive business experience required, including 3+ years in marketing.
People management experience required.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Experience with product/brand/project management or strategic marketing initiatives.
Global experience preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to drive execution and deliver results in a matrixed environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence without authority and collaborate globally.
High initiative, adaptability, and learning agility.
Up to 25% international travel may be required.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is 85,000 to 146,050 Euro.
In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
