TheAssociate Director/Director, Commercial Engagement Operations is responsible for leading and evolving key commercial engagement capabilities across Vertex. This role oversees the operational strategy, governance, and day-to-day management of core engagement channels and programs, includingSpeaker Programs, Exhibits & Displays, Sponsorships, and Charitable Contributions, in support of Commercial business units and therapeutic areas.
This position partners cross-functionally to ensure activities are planned, executed, and continuously improved in alignment with business objectives, compliance requirements, and enterprise meeting and engagement strategies. The role currently has direct accountability forSpeaker Program contracting andfield-based/regional Exhibit & Display activities, with scope designed to expand over time to include broaderspeaker program operations and more centralizedconference, exhibit, and logistics management , as business needs evolve.
This is a highly collaborative leadership role requiring close partnership with Commercial, Marketing Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Medical, Procurement, and external vendors. The individual in this role will help shape scalable processes, strengthen operational excellence, and build future-ready capabilities that support business growth, stakeholder experience, and fiscal accountability.
