Summary of Job:
The Maintenance/Utility technician will support maintenance operations at our biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and/or experience in a highly regulated industry, facility and equipment maintenance, and knowledge of regulatory compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring reliable operation of critical systems, minimizing downtime, and supporting a clean and compliant production environment.

Essential Functions:
Technical Skills
- With supervision be able to perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on bioprocessing equipment (e.g., bioreactors, centrifuges, filtration units).
- With supervision be able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, air compressors, WFI water systems, HVAC, and other utilities as required.
- With assistance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and conduct timely repairs.
- A strong commitment to safety
- Provides support for start-up, commissioning and turnover of new systems throughout the site.
Administrative
- Maintain accurate records for audits, in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FDA regulations.
- Work closely with process engineers, quality assurance, and manufacturing staff.
- Document root causes and assist in finding long-term solutions.
Job Requirement:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience
- 0-2 years relevant maintenance experience.
- Completion of the BioWork certification program with the North Carolina Community College System is considered a plus.
- 1 plus years’ experience within a GMP and/or other highly regulated environment highly desirable.

Physical Demands:
Initially working on a construction site and ultimately in a biotech manufacturing site in Sanford, NC.
Work is 100% on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote role
Working Conditions:
- Requires up to 5% domestic travel
- This shift will ultimately be a 2-2-3 Day shift; however, during construction and commissioning this position will work a M-F Day shift. Shift will be a 2-2-3 during production runs as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Exposure to machinery, noise and physical hazards (with proper PPE)
The anticipated salary for this position will be $26.63 hour to $32.55 hour. The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
