About the role
Co-ordination and supervision for operation and maintenance of electrical section. Maintain plant electrical / substation equipment & Fire protection systems to ensure that it functions reliably, safely and complies with applicable standards and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
* The primary responsibility is to support the electrical section in charge for management and maintenance of manufacturing facilities, associated infrastructure, and equipment.
* He supports the plant maintenance staff, programs maintenance activity, typically under the direction of the electrical section In-charge, to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.
* Ensure that the corrective and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished, and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed.
* Co-ordinates with Production department.
* Workshop activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management.
* Set targets to continual improvement of maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.
* Issues necessary instructions to electricians.
* Imparting on-the-job training to electrical staff.
* Ensures that the work habits conform to approved SOPs and JSA.
* Contribute to planning work with appropriate decision making.
* Providing technical and diagnostic advice to staff as required.
* Sharing of knowledge wherever required.
* Inspection of equipment spares / equipment.
* Helping engineering stores to develop standards and specifications.
* Ensures that QMS/EMS/OH&SMS requirements are properly implemented and maintained.
* Develop and implement innovative ideas to improve reliability and reduce cost.
* Electrical energy monitoring & support for preparation of utilization energy report
* Focus on energy saving / cost reduction & sustainability initiatives.
* Preparation of MIS for electrical section.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
Education / Certification:
BE Electrical (*Preferred if additionally possess PWD electrical supervisors license)
Knowledge of SAP PM & MM module / MS Office – Excel / Power Point / Word
Experience and Skills:
7-10 years’ experience at Chemical / petrochemical / pesticides or Oil Industries
Skills:
* Awareness / knowledge about BMP (Best Maintenance Practices), engineering standards, PM / PDM techniques, Maintenance analysis, spare part inventory management, manpower management, TPM and other aspects related to 5S strategies.
* Thorough knowledge of Indian electricity rules / acts / codes & regulation.
* Thorough knowledge of Hazardous area classification
* Acquainted with electrical safety audits & requirements.
* Knowledge of various Intelligent motor control centers (Siemens /Schneider) & their PLC’s
* Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS) / NFPA standards.
* Knowledge of ISO 9K /14K / 45K / 50K as well as Responsible care.
* Knowledge of Fire Protection systems / Public Address system
* Knowledge of Electrical fence.
* Knowledge of roof top solar generating plants
