About the role
PerkinElmer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs while ensuring compliance with PerkinElmer’s service standards and key performance indicators. The role involves engaging with customers to understand their analytical workflows and tailor service offerings, enhancing account profitability, and identifying revenue opportunities. The engineer will also maintain assigned assets, report product quality improvement opportunities, attend training, and complete administrative tasks related to health, safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects. Critical skills include outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, technical critical thinking, customer service, aptitude for technical matters, MS Office proficiency, and teamwork. Basic qualifications require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 3 years of experience, an Associate's degree plus 5 years of experience, or a High School Diploma plus 7+ years of experience in repairing laboratory equipment. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of analytical equipment, vendor certifications, laboratory safety practices, and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time. The working environment involves laboratory settings, potentially fast-paced conditions, and requires physical abilities such as standing, moving, bending, squatting, stretching, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds). Specific vision abilities and computer operation are also necessary. The position may involve handling hazardous waste and exposure to lab-based hazards. The annual compensation range is $58,760.00 to $70,000.00.
