Job Summary:
As an Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines/equipment used in the production of medical devices.Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the equipment to meet production targets andmaintainproduct quality. Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and operational excellence activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates multiple processes on or around high speed automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
- Participates in equipment changeovers or set-ups.
- Monitors assigned processes to ensure high quality production
- Respond to machine faults and restore to normal operation
- Participate in autonomous maintenance tomaintainassigned equipment/area
- Drives to meet or exceed all expected line/zone performance
- Removes defectiveproductfromthe automatedor semi-automated processes.
- Maintainsaccuraterecords and documents asrequired.
- Continuously improves through the Kaizen Action Sheet (KAS) program
- Produces high quality products manufactured per task documents
- Maintain equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.
- Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolvedin a timely manner
- Participate in root cause analysis toidentifyand resolve issues as needed
- Participate in tier 1 shifts' start-up meetings, 5S, and Kaizen events
- Support andmaintaina safe working environment including the submission of employee safety observations (ESO)
- Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities as needed
- Ability to train other associates as needed
- Ability toidentifyproduction issues and clearly communication to support functions
- Complies withall local, state, federal, and BD safety & quality regulations, policies, procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED OR1 yearconsecutive work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years on the job experience
- Must be able to read & write in written English and communicate in verbal English
- Effectively work in a team setting and communicate across the department
- Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification
- Ability tooperateindependently within the constraints of approved process-related documentation
- Ability analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
- Basicproficiencywith PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment
Work Environment & Essential Physical Functions:

- Lift 20 pounds, occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 pounds,frequentlypushing/pulling up to 10lbsand carry up to 5 lbs. Exposure working near loud moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, cleaningcompoundsand solvents.
- Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must havehearing sufficientto safelyoperatematerial handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment. Must be willing and able to wear requiredPPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.
