Job Summary
The EHS Coordinator at Waters/BD will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. This role promotes a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the identification, evaluation, and control of EHS risks and hazards across all company operations.
- Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and walk-throughs to ensure compliance with EHS standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees, covering topics such as hazardous waste management, emergency preparedness, personal protective equipment, and industrial hygiene.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, including incident reports, training logs, inspection findings, and regulatory documentation.
- Investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the EHS Manager in responding to regulatory inquiries and inspections.
- Assist in the development and revision of EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in EHS committees and teams, fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Monitor and track key EHS performance indicators, preparing reports for management.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant EHS regulations and industry best practices.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing or life sciences environment.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and present information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to conduct effective EHS inspections and incident investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- EHS certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, CHMM) are a plus.
