About This Role:
As the Director of Procurement - Global Development & Medical Services, you will play a pivotal role within the Research, Development, and Medical Services Procurement team. This position is integral to driving procurement strategies, managing a substantial ~$600M spend across diverse subcategories such as Clinical Trial CRO Management, Clinical Technologies, and Medical Affairs services.
In this role the focus will be on translating high-level business objectives and priorities into deployable strategies, facilitated through a procurement team. With your business insights, commercial foresight, and procurement expertise you’ll shape category strategies, influence decision-making, and unlock opportunities that extend beyond cost.
This Director will report to the Head of Research, Development & Medical Services.
What You’llDo:
- Category Strategy Leadership:Leada team of GlobalCategoryMangerstobuild & refreshstrategic categorystrategiesgrounded in external market signals and internal demand, to enablebusiness acceleration.
- Supplier Relationship Ownership:Drive Global SRM for strategic partners, leadBusiness Operations Committee(BOC) Governance, QBS,andissue &performancemanagement toenablebusiness goals andobjectives.
- Spend Analytics & Value Generation:Utilizespend data analytics, marketintelligence, and benchmarking toidentifyvalue opportunities,optimizevendor services, drive Cost Reduction & Avoidanceimprovingvaluereturn in alignment with Finance.
- Cross Functional Leadership:Partner with senior stakeholders to build relationshipsandcoordinatestructureddecision makingacross diverse teamsthatfacilitatebusinessalignment, acceleration, andvalue.
- Negotiation Leadership:Set and execute negotiation strategies and playbooks for complex global MSAs, rate cards, rebates, and commercial terms to secure value, control, and speed.
- Execution Excellence:Ensure efficiency of procurement events throughoptimaluse of buying channels,program implementations of tools and systemsthat drivesuccessful executionwhile managing risks and clear stakeholder communication.
- Preferred SupplierEcosystem:Evaluate vendor landscape to align preferred suppliersmeeting the business’ prioritiesacross Business Units, Therapeutic Areas, and Global environmentto ensureconsistency,complianceandoutcomes.

Required Skills:
- Undergraduate degree orequivalent combination of education and experiencerequired
- 12+years ofrelatedleadershipexperienceincluding6+ years ofclinical or adjacentcategory management,and at least 3 years in team managementinaglobalenvironment
- Proven leadership of high impact teamsand ability to mentor and coachteam membersto develop strategic capabilities
- Ability to influence,collaborate, and communicateeffectively with strong stakeholder management skills, building trust across cross-functional teams and senior business partners.
